Who we are
Make My Edits is a video editing, influencer marketing, social media management and paid advertising studio working with brands and creators, based in Delhi NCR and operating across India and internationally. Our website is makemyedit.com.
For anything in this policy, write to info@makemyedit.com. That address reaches a person, not a ticket queue.
What we collect, and where it comes from
Lead forms on Meta, Instagram and Google
If you submit an instant form attached to one of our ads, the platform passes us the fields you filled in — typically your name, email address and phone number, and sometimes the answers to qualifying questions such as your budget range or service of interest. We only receive what that form asked for and what you chose to submit.
The project brief on this site
The brief form asks for your name, email, phone number, budget range, a link to your footage, your project and delivery dates, your timezone, a preferred call window, and anything else you choose to write in the notes field. Every field is something we use to scope and schedule the work.
The creator sign-up form
If you are a creator joining our roster, we collect your name, handle, public profile link, platform, audience size, niche, city, the formats you make, your turnaround times, your rate range, your email, and your preferred way of being contacted. A phone number is optional and we only hold one if you chose to give it. We use this to match you against brand briefs — nothing else.
Email, phone and messaging
If you contact us directly, we keep the correspondence and whatever you share in it, including files you send us.
Technical information
Our host records standard server logs — IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time — which exist to keep the site running and secure. We do not run Google Analytics, advertising pixels or any third-party tracking on this website. That may change if we add advertising measurement later, and this policy will be updated before it does.
Why we use it
Each purpose below is the only thing we use that data for:
- To reply to you. Calling or emailing you back about the project you asked about.
- To scope and quote the work. Budget, dates and footage links exist so we can give you a real number and a real deadline rather than a guess.
- To deliver the project if you go ahead — scheduling, producing, reviewing and delivering the files.
- To invoice you and keep the accounting records the law requires us to keep.
- To keep the site working and to investigate abuse or technical faults.
We do not use your data to build advertising profiles, and we do not add you to a marketing list because you asked for a quote. If we ever want to send you something that is not about your own project, we will ask first.
Who else sees it
We do not sell personal data, and we never have. It reaches other parties only in these situations:
- Our own team — the producer, editor and finishing artists assigned to your project, and only what they need to do the work.
- Meta and Google, when you submit a lead form on their platforms. They handle that data under their own policies as well as ours, and we have no control over what they collect on their side.
- Service providers we use to run the business — website hosting and storage (Vercel), Google Workspace (form submissions are recorded in a private Google Sheet only our team can open), email, file transfer and accounting software. They process data on our instructions and for no purpose of their own.
- Creators, only with your agreement. If a campaign involves creators, we share what the brief needs. Your contact details are not passed on unless you ask us to introduce you.
- Where the law requires it — a valid legal demand, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become projects: up to 12 months, then deleted. If you ask us to delete sooner, we do.
- Client project records: for the length of the engagement and up to 3 years afterwards, so we can answer questions about work we delivered.
- Invoices and accounting records: for as long as Indian tax law requires us to retain them.
- Raw footage and project files: returned or deleted on request. We do not hold your footage hostage.
- Server logs: a short rolling window, kept by our host for operational and security purposes.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the following rights over your personal data. You can exercise any of them by emailing info@makemyedit.com — no particular form of words is needed.
- Right to information — a summary of the personal data of yours we are processing, what we are doing with it, and who we have shared it with.
- Right to correction, completion and updating — tell us what is wrong and we will fix it.
- Right to erasure — ask us to delete your data, and we will, unless the law requires us to keep a specific record such as an invoice.
- Right to nominate — you may nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf if you are unable to.
- Right to grievance redressal — described below.
We will respond to any of these within a reasonable period, and normally within 30 days.
Withdrawing consent
Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time, and doing so is as simple as giving it was — one email to info@makemyedit.com saying so. Withdrawal does not affect anything we did lawfully before you withdrew, and we will tell you if it means we can no longer deliver something you have asked for.
Complaints and grievance redressal
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, write to our grievance contact at info@makemyedit.com with "Privacy grievance" in the subject line. We will acknowledge it and respond with what we intend to do about it.
If we do not resolve it to your satisfaction, you may escalate the complaint to the Data Protection Board of India, which is the statutory body established under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Cookies
This site sets one cookie, and only for our own team: a session cookie that lets staff into an internal work dashboard after they log in. It contains no personal data about visitors, expires after twelve hours and cannot be read by page scripts.
There are no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies and no third-party trackers on this website, which is why you are not being asked to accept a cookie banner.
Security, children and changes
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, internal tools are behind authentication, and access to client data is limited to the people working on that project. No system is perfect, and we will tell you promptly if a breach affects your data.
Children
Our services are sold to businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If a child's personal data appears in footage you send us, you are responsible for having the consent needed to share it, and we handle it only for the purpose of producing your project.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be notified to active clients directly rather than left for you to notice.
